Loretta Lee Zielke, 71, of Buchanan passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Friday, May 7 at Stevensville United Methodist Church with Rev. B. Gordon Barry officiating. Burial will be in New Troy Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday from 6-8 PM at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Stevensville United Methodist Church Renovation Fund - Baptismal Font. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com

Loretta was born December 17, 1938 in Weesaw Township the daughter of the late John and Lillian (Henspeter) Hauch. On January 25, 1958 she married George Zielke and they shared 52 years together. She was a member of Stevensville United Methodist Church. Loretta was a bookkeeper for many years. In 1989, she and George formed Empire Molded Plastics and ran it successfully for 15 years, selling it in 2004. She loved her flowers, her grandsons, cooking for family holidays, and her dogs – Katie and J-J. Loretta also loved to travel and her trip to Europe with her sister, Julie, was special.

Survivors include her husband, George ; two children – George (Tracy) Zielke Jr. of South Bend and Donna Hieber of Farmville, Virginia; seven grandsons; one brother, Jim (Vickie) Hauch; and three sisters – Jane (Bill) Brackett, Joyce (Larry) Green, and Lucille (Gordon) Christopher.

Loretta was preceded in death by a son, David Zielke; a sister, Julie Clayton; and two brothers – John and Jerry Hauch.
