Lois Orchard

Lois Jean Orchard, 91 of St. Joseph, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 15, 2021 in the care of her family at her daughter’s home.

A visitation will be held from 10 - 12 Noon, Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman. A private graveside service will follow at Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Smile Train, 633 Third Avenue, 9th Floor, New York, NY 10017. Lois was born April, 1, 1929 in Batavia, New York, the daughter of the late Bernhard and Anna (Blakely) Platzer. On April 15, 1950, she married James Orchard and he preceded her in death in May of 1999. She loved being with family, cooking and preparing meals for them. She enjoyed antique shopping and “junking” with her friends.

Survivors include her four children: Sharon (John) Perkins, James (Phyllis) Orchard, Susan (Patrick) Collins, and Gregg (Sherry) Orchard; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and brother, Barney Platzer.

Lois was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Megan.
