Lewis “Joe” Leroy Hostetler, Sr., 82, of Buchanan passed away peacefully on October 23, 2021.
A funeral service will be held 11 AM Friday, October 29, 2021 at Hope Community Church, 2390 Lake St., Niles, MI 49120 with his daughter, Reverend Cathy A. Ganus officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 10-11 AM prior to service at the church. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan. Memorial contributions may be given to Hope Community Church. Joe was born on May 30, 1939 in Mishawaka, Indiana, the son of the late Howard and Thelma (Singleton) Hostetler. Joe was a United States Navy Veteran. He was a lift truck and semi driver for Michigan Fruit Canners. Joe loved hunting, fishing, football and NASCAR.
Survivors include his children: Cathy (Timothy) Ganus, Stephenie Bogart, Lewis (Bethany) Hostetler, Jr., Joseph (Jessi Gawlik) Hostetler, Donald (Judy) Benfield; grandchildren: Matthew (Kaylee) Ganus, Tyler (Abigail) Ganus, Benjamin (Candyce Peppers) Ganus, Timothy (Rebekah) Bogart, Zackery (Haily Shibinski) Bogart, Hope Canniff, Sean Canniff, Cody Hostetler, Cheyanne Hostetler, Jessie (Jeremiah) Benfield-Boik, JoAnn (Andrew Daly) Benfield; great grandchildren: Rhett, Rowan, Aria, and Jakson Ganus, Venessa and Timothy Bogart, Kiana and Ty Benfield-Boik; siblings: Lois (Jack) Lovitt, Linda Perry, and Carol (Ted) Lake.
Lewis is also preceded in death by four siblings: John, Lonnie, Clifford, Louetta and the mother of his children: Patricia Martin.
Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman.
