Leona June Dixon

Leona June Dixon (Blosser), born November 30, 1956, at Saint Joe Memorial Hospital, bid us a heartfelt farewell on November 11, 2024, at Lakeland Corewell Hospital. Aged 67, Leona spent her life lighting up rooms and hearts with her humor and warmth. She believed in Christianity but had her own unique take on spirituality, bringing an open heart to everyone she met.

Leona’s legacy shines brightest through her beloved children: Melissa, Tim, and Andy. She cherished every moment watching Melissa blossom into a devoted mother, savored the delightful meals Tim crafted, and beamed with pride as she supported Andy and his Taekwondo students. Her children were undeniably her greatest achievements.

For almost three decades, Alro Steel was Leona’s professional playground, where her colleagues became her extended family. But her heart extended beyond work; she was a vibrant part of the community, lending her love to stray animals, her beloved ATA family, and the lively crew at Friendly Tavern. Always the cheerful spirit, Leona was the life of every party and a second mom to many.

Leona joins a heavenly family reunion with her grandmother Carlene Zizkovsky, her father, Willis "Bud" Blosser, her mother, Betty Blosser (Peirce), her sister, Lisa (Art) Burton, and her brother, Michael Blosser, all having predeceased her. She is survived and celebrated by her husband, Bryan Dixon, her children Melissa (Mark) Mattson, Tim Meckes, James (Christina) Dixon and Andy Dixon, her grandchildren Anders Mattson, Annika Mattson, and Ella Mattson. her sisters, Becky (Leslie) Rochefort, Sharon (David) Robinson, and Pam (Darold) Steinke, as well as her brother, Willis "Buddy" (Sharon) Blosser. Along with nieces and nephews.

We will gather to honor Leona’s remarkable life at 3 p.m. on Monday, November 18th, at Lunar Martial Arts, located at 211 Hilltop Rd, Saint Joe, MI 49085. Afterwards, we invite everyone to join us at The Friendly Tavern, 206 N Paw Paw St, Coloma, MI 49038, to share stories, laughter, and maybe a beer or two, just as Leona would have loved.

Instead of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Berrien County Animal Control or The Mimsey Foundation. Let’s remember Leona’s joy, her wit, and her endless compassion as we cherish the memories she left with us all.

Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman.
