Kenneth Korcek

Kenneth John Korcek, 80, of Bridgman went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, May 27, 2019 at  Spectrum Health Lakeland, St. Joseph.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 31, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church,  9650 N. Church Street, Bridgman with Reverend Edward A. Meyer officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday from  4 - 7 PM.  at the church.  Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Ken was born Saturday, July 30, 1938 in Chicago, the only son of the late John and Anna (Malina) Korcek.  Ken married Betty Lou Strietelmeier on November 27, 1965.  He received his bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from Valparaiso University. Ken was employed by public utilities in Illinois and Michigan. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.  For a short period of time he had his own remodeling business until his health became an issue. He enjoyed gardening and raising a few animals on his family farm.  He was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and served on several boards throughout his life.  His relationship with his Lord Jesus Christ and his family were most important to him.

Survivors include his wife of 53  years, Betty; children: Andrew (Ellen) and their children, Kayla, Andrew and Ethan Korcek, Elizabeth (Chad) and their children,  Sarah and Rebekah Hettig, James (Suzanne) and their children, Kendall and Kaden Korcek, and Daniel (Sharon) and their children, Kara and Joseph Korcek.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, the Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman.
