Kenneth Arthur Freehling, 69, of Bridgman passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.
Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday, January 19 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Glendora with Rev. Thomas R. Brazinsky officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 PM Sunday at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. Mr. Freehling was born October 6, 1939 in Glendora the son of Adam and Margaret (Sinner) Freehling. On July 25, 1964 he married the former Loretta A. Schultz. Ken was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Glendora. He was a school teacher for many years teaching at Climax-Scotts Public Schools, New Buffalo Public Schools and Bridgman Public Schools. He was an official with the Michigan High School Athletic Association for over 20 years. Ken enjoyed seeing the country with Loretta as they delivered RV’s.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Loretta; his mother, Margaret Freehling of Buchanan; a brother, Dale (Karen) Freehling of Bridgman; two nephews – Michael (Lora) Freehling and Steven (Jan) Freehling; a niece, Marcia (Michael) Kackmeister; and six great nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, Adam Freehling, in 1979; and an infant sister.
