Kenneth Ray Freehling, 51, of Buchanan passed away on Monday, October 26, 2009 at The Arbors, Michigan City.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, October 30, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Glendora with Rev. Thomas R. Brazinsky officiating. Burial will be in Weesaw Township Cemetery, Glendora. Friends may meet with the family from 3-8 PM Thursday at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to the family.

Ken was born April 30, 1958 in Benton Harbor the son of Raymond and Norma (Schmaltz) Freehling. On August 26, 1978 he married the former Lois Irene Slavens. Ken worked at Baroda City Mill for 30 plus years, retiring in 1995. He loved to be outdoors, hunting, fishing, and working on small engines.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Lois; one son, Kenny Freehling of Chesterton, Indiana; his mother, Norma Freehling of New Troy; one brother, Norman Freehling of Eau Claire; two sisters – Susan (Perry) Weikel of Sawyer and Debbie Mazurik of New Troy; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Freehling, in 2000.
