Kathy Kiel

Sarah "Kathy" Katherine Kiel, 64 of Bridgman passed away at her home on Monday, May 21, 2012.

Friends may meet with the family from 1 - 3 PM Sunday May 27, 2012 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be given to Berrien County Cancer Service or Hospice at Home.

Kathy was born March 27, 1948 in Caruthersville, Missouri, the daughter of the late Alfred and Louis Marie (Faulkner) Slavens. She married Donald J. Kiel on December 15, 1966 and he preceded her in death on May 5, 2010. Kathy retired from Leco Corporation after 25 years. She loved her family and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her children - Mike Kiel of Three Oaks and Kevin (Sandi) Kiel of Bridgman; brothers and sisters - Jerry (Paula) Faulkner of Stevensville, George (Betty) Cummings of Vadalia, GA, Tim (Connie) Slavens of Three Oaks, Jim (Julie) Slavens of St. Charles, IL, Allen (Cathy) Slavens of Bridgman, Norman (Debbie) Slavens of Phoenix, AZ, Lois (Dennis) Reed of Buchanan, Dianne (Kris) Mell of New Carlisle, IN, Teresa (Rick) Blair of Sawyer; grandchildren - Michael, Joshua, Trevor, Nathan, Makayla; brother-in-law: Henry Kiel; mother-in-law: Helen Kiel; and many nieces and nephews.

Sarah was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law: Darlene Lancaster and her father-in-law: Alexander Kiel.
