Kathy Brohman, 65, of Berrien Springs passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph with family at her side.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2-5pm on Sunday, Nov. 14, at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 10am Monday, Nov. 15 at the funeral home with Pastor Raymond Fulbright officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Berrien Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kathy's memory may be made to the Berrien County Youth Fair Dairy Barn, Berrien County Youth Fair Trophy Room, Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aid Berrien Springs, or Lory's Place. Kathy was born Sept. 16, 1945 in Benton Township to George and Ethel (Goff) Rudell. She was a 1963 graduate of Berrien Springs High School and was affectionately known as "Kip" by classmates. After graduation she worked at Voice of Music in Benton Harbor as the Service Manager's secretary, then at Electro Voice in Buchanan until starting her family during which time she worked as the church/school secretary for Trinity. She currently worked as the Election Inspector for the Oronoko Township and Berrien Springs Village, and enjoyed volunteering in the Berrien County Youth Fair Trophy Room, Dairy Barn, and Home Economics Building. Kathy also volunteered at the Journal Era where she was affectionately known as the "Keeper of the Chaos".

On August 6, 1966 she married her soul mate Keith L. Brohman who preceded her in death Feb. 20, 2009. Together they raised their family on Rambling Acres, a dairy farm in Oronoko Township where she was the bookkeeper. She adored her two granddaughters; Ana and Ade, and enjoyed being with them during the summer months and after school.

Kathy was a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Berrien Springs and lived by her confirmation verse, Proverbs 3:5&6. She was an avid picture taker and loved scrapbooking.

Survivors include two sons; Rodney (Phyllis) of Berrien Springs and Gregory (Mindi) of Niles; a daughter, Amy (James Jr.) Felgner of Buchanan; two granddaughters, Ana Marie Felgner and Adelaide Rose Felgner of Buchanan; sisters, Mary Lu (Don) Radde of Edwardsburg and Eileen (Bill) Graves of Benton Harbor; a brother , Jerry (Shirlie) Rudell of Berrien Springs; and two brothers-in-law, Charles E. Brohman and Earl (Linda A) Brohman both of Berrien Springs.

Kathy was also preceded in death by her parents and baby brother, George Michael Rudell.
