Karl Murray Smith, 59, Bridgman, passed away on Sunday January 31, 2016 after an extended illness, surrounded by his loving family, and in the arms of his dear wife.

A memorial service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, February, 3, 2016 at Woodland Shores Baptist Church, 3555 Shawnee Road, Bridgman with Reverend Winston Decker officiating. Friends may meet with the family Tuesday from 5-8 PM at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. Memorial contributions may be given to Young Life of Southwest Michigan or Karl Smith Children College Fund. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com

Karl was born March 22, 1956 in St. Joseph. He graduated from Bridgman High School in 1974 and after graduation from Taylor University he elected to return to Southwestern Michigan, the area that he loved. Karl held a long-term position as Vice President of First Source Bank. Karl enjoyed fixing up antique cars, going to car shows, and had long-time love for the game of golf, even joking at the end, that he had a set tee time with his maker. He attended Woodland Shores Church for many years and was a current member at the Chapel. What Karl loved most of all was spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife Jamie, his children Dr. Kasey (Corey) Kugle, Shelby (Ty) Paulk, Kolby (Britton) Smith, McKenna and Reagan Smith. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and his mother Bobbie Smith, his sister Joan (David) Sorensen of Madison, WI, a sister-in-law Trish Smith and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Dr. Dale Smith and his brother Dr. Neal Smith.
