Karen Sue Freehling

Karen Sue Freehling, 81, of Bridgman passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Caretell Inns St. Joseph.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9650 Church St., Bridgman, MI 49106 with Reverend Dr. Douglas Krengel officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 5-7 PM on Monday, October 28, 2024 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Karen was born on June 19, 1943 in St. Joseph, the daughter of the late Zachariah and Mineva (Reber) McPherson. On June 15, 1963 she married Dale Freehling and he preceded her in death on December 9, 2011. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Over the years, Karen had been employed at Peoples State Bank and Horizon Bank. She enjoyed crafting, quilting and ceramics.

Survivors include three children: Michael (Lora) Freehling, Steven Freehling and Marcia (Michael) Kackmeister; six grandchildren: Mason, Olivia, Mineva and Lily Freehling, Jacob and Amanda Kackmeister; and one sister, Lois (Nick) Zender.

Karen was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Jann Freehling.

Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman.
