Julie Balkin

Julie Ann “Jules” Balkin, 48, of Eau Claire passed away unexpectedly at her home on July 6, 2021.

Services will be held Friday, July 16, 2021 at 4 PM at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family on Friday from 3-4 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Taylor Moyer to assist with funeral expenses. Julie was born on July 23, 1972 in St. Joseph, the daughter of the late James Ford and Sharon Ullig. Julie graduated from Lake Michigan College with an associate’s degree in Hospitality Management. She worked at Meijer for 14 years. Julie loved butterflies, kayaking, cooking, and travelling. She liked to take trips and be adventurous.

Survivors include her ex-husband: Richard Balkin; children: Micheala Gibbs, Taylor (Dalton) Moyer, Emma Balkin, and Kaitlynn Balkin; step-children: Chrischion, Shayan, and Bernabe; step-grandchild: Calvin “CJ”; mother: Sharon (Kurt) Ullig; and brothers: Russ Ford, Jeff (Ann) Ullig, and Scott Ullig.

Julie was also preceded in death by her father and her grandparents: Henry and Vera Ford.
