Judy M. Hoge, 76, of Stevensville went to be with her Lord on Friday, August 28, 2015 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.
A funeral service honoring Judy’s life will be held on 11:00 am Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015 at Lakeshore Baptist Church, 5411 Cleveland Avenue, Stevensville with Reverends Duane Anderson and Gary Harris officiating. Friends may meet with the family 5-7 PM Monday, August 31 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman. Burial will be in Hickory Bluff Cemetery, Stevensville. Memorial contributions may be made to Benton Harbor Street Ministries, 200 E. Empire Ave., Benton Harbor, MI 49022.
Judy was born November 2, 1938 in Bangor, the daughter of the late Doyle and Donevieve (Decker) Barkmeier. On May 31, 1958 she married Roger E. Hoge. She was a charter member of Lakeshore Baptist Church where she had been an organist. She had been employed at The Lemon Tree and also taught piano lessons. Judy enjoyed playing the piano and organ. Judy loved her family and was sensitive to the needs of others.
Judy is survived by her husband of 57 years, Roger; three children – Rhonda (Howard) Patterson of Niles, Mike (Julie) Hoge of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Cheryl (Steve) Schadler of St. Joseph; six grandchildren – Joshua and Caleb Patterson, Rachel and Matthew Hoge, and Ben and Amanda Schadler; and a sister, Muriel (Larry) Holben of St. Joseph.
Judy was also preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Tollas.
