Juanita Shunkwiler

Juanita Shunkwiler,89, of Baroda, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at The Willows, St. Joseph.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 3,2010 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman with Pastor Christopher Noffke officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ruggles Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home, St. Joseph.

Juanita was born August 31, 1921 in St Joseph to William and Amanda Fritz. On December 15, 1945 she married Alvin (Jay) Shunkwiler. She was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture in the conservation program. After moving to Baroda, she became office manager for Baroda Mfg. Co. After the company left the area, she was employed by Baroda Hardware for a number of years as bookkeeper. She was also employed as bookkeeper for Baroda City Mills.

She is survived by a sister, Ileen Tollas of Baroda and several nieces and nephews.

Juanita was preceded in death by her husband in February 2004 and by a sister Virginia and two brothers; Elmer and Melvin Fritz.
