Jonelle Jean McConnell

Jonelle Jean McConnell, 88, of St. Joseph passed away on July 4, 2024 at Corewell Health South in St. Joseph.

 A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family from 10 am until the time of the service. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com 

 Jonelle was born on June 3, 1936 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of the late John and Leona (Wysong) Carrell. On August 27, 1955 she married James McConnell and he preceded her in death on May 6, 2011. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the American Red Cross. Jonelle enjoyed golf, cooking, and her dogs; but most of all being with her kids and grandkids.

Survivors include two daughters - Kathy (Rick) Nitz and Lori Leemaster; five grandchildren - Justin (Sabrina) Leemaster, Allison (Miles) Becher, Jordan (Kelsey) Leemaster, and their father, Ted Leemaster; also Jayme (Kinsey) Leemaster and Ashlee (Michael) Shane; ten great grandchildren – Addison, Paige, Madilyn, Arielle, Jonah, Milayna, Camilla, Hayden, Montgomery, and Winston; and one sister – Beverly Weaver.

 Jonelle was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Deanna Jean in 1966 and a son-in-law, Terry Leemaster in 2017.
