John Boos


John Oscar Boos, 80, of Bridgman passed away on January 4, 2011, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.

A funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday, January 8, 2011 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 9193 Cleveland Avenue, Baroda, with Reverend Kenneth Babcock officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Friday from 5-8 PM at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Relay For Life or St. John’s Lutheran Church.

John was born October 25, 1930 in Chicago, Il., the son of the late Oscar and Anna (Esberg) Boos. On June 17, 1950, he married Dorothy Levins. She preceded him in death in 1996.

Survivors include his four daughters - Darlene (Bob) Crawford of Bridgman, Nancy (Leo) Copeland of Buchanan, Barbara ( Albert) Majeres of Burr Ridge, Il., Laura Waeyaert of Maryland; son - Gregory Boos of Las Vegas, NV.; sister - Mildred (William) Durkin of Maryland; cousin - Myrthle Griffin of Oregon; eight grandchildren - Matthew (Allison) Shaffer, Christine Copeland, Melanie (Dave) Camp, Julie (Aaron) Ogilvie, Theresa (Shawn) Gilliam, Joseph, Jacob and Asher Waeyaert; two great grandsons - Korben Woodruff and Evan Ogilvie.

John was also preceded in death by a sister - Syrene Vopat and a grandchild - Justin Shaffer.
