Jeffery Brence Jackson

Jeffery Brence Jackson, 66, of Sawyer passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at his home in the care of his family.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 22, 2023 at Lake Michigan Christian Center, 9955 Church St, Bridgman, MI 49106. Friends may meet with the family from 4-7 PM on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman, MI 49106. Jeffery was born on September 19, 1957 in South Bend, IN, the son of the late Brence and Patricia (Brightbill) Jackson. On July 16, 2011 he married Freda and they shared 12 years together. Jeffery worked in Energy Solutions at D.C. Cook Nuclear Plant for 40 years until his retirement in 2021. He enjoyed playing softball, pool, golf, and horseshoes. His granddaughter would tell you he’s famous; everyone knows her Papa. He inherited his charisma and sense of humor from his father, who he gladly passed down to anyone willing to participate in his hilarious shenanigans. He always had his heart on his sleeve, and a joke in his pocket. Jeffery always had a great sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife: Freda; daughter: Carmen (Cole VanderMolen) Jackson; step-daughter: Lauren DiVitto; grandchildren: Laynie Jackson, Micah, Athena, and Becker VanderMolen; siblings: Gloria Bickerstaff, Linda (Gary) Jannert, Gina (Jason Rosenthal) Balbo, and Anthony (Deb) Balbo.

Jeffery was also preceded in death by two sisters: Virginia Powell and Cheryl Jackson.
