Jane Condon of Bridgman passed away on Monday, May 24, 2010 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Friday, May 28 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father German Perez Diaz officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Berrien County Animal Control.
Jane was born in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Frank and Beatrice (VanWagner) Condon. After graduating from Chicago’s Saint Xavier College for Women (now Saint Xavier University) Jane taught at a one-room schoolhouse in Illinois. During World War II she joined the United States Army, Fifth Army HQ in Chicago, serving as a logistics officer. She retired from Fifth Army in 1968 and moved to Bridgman.
Survivors include a sister - Joan Guilfoyle of Hazel Crest, Illinois; two nephews - Robert Guilfoyle of Bridgman and Thomas (Toni) Guilfoyle of Gainesville, FL; two nieces - Peg (John) Baillie of Stillwater, MN and Joan Guilfoyle of St. Paul, MN; grand nephew - John Baillie and grand nieces - Margaret Baillie and Jaclynn Guilfoyle.
