Helene Paul

Helene Paul, 90, of Bridgman passed away on Monday, January 2, 2012 at her home in Bridgman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Glendora, 1733 Glendora Road, Buchanan with Reverend Thomas R. Brazinski officiating. Burial will be in New Troy Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 PM Friday at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Glendora, Hospice at Home or the American Heart Association.

Helene was born April 24,1921 in Kostopol, Poland, the daughter of the late Gottlieb and Pauline (Zielke) Makus. Helene’s husband, Emil, preceded her in death in July of 1995. She was a founder and owner of M & M Die Cast, Inc. Helene had also been a seamstress at Gerber Products in Three Oaks.

Survivors include her children – Irmgard (James) Sturgell of Centennial, CO, Irene (Michael) Oman of Buchanan, Rita (Michael) Jones of Buchanan; grandchildren - Paul (Deborah) Boughner, Shelly Tilman, Benjamin (Michelle) Sturgell, Eric Jones, Andrew Sturgell, Michael A. (Jennifer) Jones; great grandchildren - Allison, Madeline, Kayla, SarahRose, Rebecca, Emma and Victoria Boughner, Alec and Ashley Tilman, and Taylor Sturgell; and her sister Alma Neumann of Bielefeld, Germany.

Helene was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Christina Paul, a grandson, Adam Jones in 1982, her brothers - Paul, Ernst and Richard, and her sister Hulda.
