Helen Gilfoyle

Helen “Midge” Lewella Gilfoyle, 91 of Bridgman passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Pine Ridge Nursing Home, Stevensville, surrounded by her family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Monday, March 25, 2019 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 5760 Sawyer Road, Sawyer. Friends may meet with the family from 2 - 4 PM Sunday, at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, the Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. Helen was born March 20, 1927 in Chicago the daughter of the late John and Emma (Myers) Meek. On January 28, 1949 she married James H. Gilfoyle, Sr. and he preceded  her in death on January 21, 2004. Helen was a faithful member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.  Midge devoted her life to maintaining her home and family, and was especially known as a seamstress, as she loved sewing above everything else.

Survivors include two daughters: Rita  Holmes and Patricia (Dave) Miller; a son: James (Chris) Gilfoyle; and nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.

Helen was also preceded in death by two sons, Paul and Michael, infant twin daughters, Mary Margaret and Elizabeth Louise and grandsons, Paul William and Brian Hansen,  a brother, Cecil  Meek and son-in-law Robert.
