Helen Deja

Helen Louise Deja, 91, of Bridgman, formerly Baroda, passed away at her home on Tuesday, May 29, 2012.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Friday, June 1, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Bridgman with Father Arthur Howard as Celebrant. Burial will be in North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may meet with the family from 6 - 8 PM Thursday at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman, where a Rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice at Home.

Helen was born December 4, 1920 in St. Joseph, Michigan, the daughter of the late Henry Leon and Marie Elizabeth (Nelson) Rhodes.

Survivors include her 11 children - Patricia (Alan) Essig of Saranac, MI, Michael (Heidi) Deja of Bridgman, James (Constance) Deja of Coral Springs, FL, Daniel (Sharon) Deja of Key West, FL, Mary Tiernan of Kalamazoo, MI, Judith Benjamin of St. Joseph, Eugene (Sue) Deja of Olathe, KS, Veronica (Steve) Myers of Bridgman, William (Tammi) Deja of Baroda, Joseph (Karin) Deja of Allendale, MI, John Deja of St. Cloud, FL; 24 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.

Helen was also preceded in death by her husband Eugene J. Deja in 1985; daughter - Ann Elizabeth; brother - Charles J. Rhodes and sister Margaret (Rhodes) Green.
