Helen Elizabeth Blesy, 93, of Bridgman passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.

A memorial service will be held 3 PM Sunday, January 9 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman, with Reverend Kenneth Babcock officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday prior to the service beginning at 2 PM. Helen was recognized many years for collecting the most donations for the American Legion Post 331 Poppy Day sales. As an expression of sympathy, in her honor, remember her as you donate to Poppy Day in care of the American Legion Post 331- Poppy Day sales; PO Box 67, Bridgman, MI 49106.

Helen was born July 29, 1917 in Barber, Montana, the daughter of the late Frank and Katherine (Tabar) Schlitter. She was one of eight children.

Survivors include her son Harold Blesy (Margaret Coscino) of Willowbrook, Il.; granddaughter - Anjeanette (Ralph) Dimenna of France; grandson - Dr. Edmund (Marcy Wood) Blesy of Bridgman; three great grandsons - Connor and Luke Blesy, and David Dimenna.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband - Edmund in 1985.
