Hazel Sullivan

Hazel Lucinda Sullivan, 77, of Sawyer passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph..

A memorial service will be held 7 PM Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at Baroda Bible Church, 9058 Third Street, Baroda with Reverend Dr. Clare E. Cardy officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Baroda Bible Church.

Hazel was born June 28, 1934 in Marquand, MO, the daughter of the late Newton and Mable (Grisham) Starkey. She married Ermel Sullivan on June 28, 1952 in Paragould, AK and he preceded her in death. Hazel was employed by Canteen Corp., Clancy’s Deli, and the Flour Shop Bakery in Stevensville. She attended The Baroda Bible Church and taught Sunday School for many years.

Survivors include a son - Daniel (Elizabeth) Sullivan of St. Joseph; sisters - Lena (Tom) Woods of Bridgman and Zella Marler of St. Louis, MO; brother - Clayton (Ruth) Starkey of Parchment, MI; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and a dear friend - Frank Zuhl.

Hazel was also preceded in death by a brother - Clayborn Starkey.
