Harold's life began in Bridgman on March 1, 1928 the son of Roy and Hannah (Gast) Bammann.
His love of cars started at an early age of 14 as he worked in local garages as a mechanic. In the 50's he built a race car +One (super modified - an early version of the Outlaws) and it was raced on dirt and asphalt tracks in Indiana, Ohio and other surrounding states. It held a track record several years after it was retired.
In 1969 Harold changed course and went to work as a machine repairman, first at Clark Equipment in Buchanan and then at Allied Bendix in St. Joseph from where he retired in 1989. After his retirement he returned to his love of cars and restored a 1959 Corvette and a 1929 Ford Coupe.
In his spare time he liked hunting, fishing and watching all types of car racing, especially NASCAR. He also loved listening to music with his "Dear One."
Harold is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bridgman.
Harold loved God, his family and the outdoors. He had a unique sense of humor and a love for all animals. He will be dearly missed by all.
