Gregory Vogelar

Gregory Mark Vogelar, 65 formerly of Jenison went to his eternal rest Saturday, April 7, 2018 at his home in Bridgman after a very short and courageous battle with cancer.

Greg was born September 29, 1952 the son of the late Lawrence and Ida (Van Andel) Vogelar. Survivors include his son, Justin Mark Vogelar and his mother Kristine; a dear companion Lu Williams; sisters: Sandra (Stuart) Warner, Sheryl (Dennis) Shotwell , and Shellee (Fred) Myers and brother Daryl (Pam) Vogelar and eleven nieces and nephews.

Greg was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, tennis player, and loved the outdoors. Walks at Weko Beach with his dear companion, Lu gave him great joy. He was a great father to his son, Justin and cherished their visits to local breweries, watching Packer games, and working in the yard together.

Greg’s renewed faith became important to him toward the end of his life. He and Lu found a church home where he felt the love of God at Lake Michigan Christian Center. The family is grateful for the kindness of Pastor Erik Gustafson and the many good people at LMCC.

A memorial service to celebrate and honor Greg’s life will be held at 2pm, Saturday, April 14 2018 at Lake Michigan Christian Center, 9955 Church Street, Bridgman. An informal gathering of friends and family will start at 1pm in the church foyer. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice at Home, St. Joseph.
