Goodwin A. “Bud” Lycan, 74, of Bridgman passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, October 6 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bridgman with Pastor Jon Bendewald officiating. Burial will be in Wolf’s Pen Mountain Cemetery, Virginia. Friends may meet with the family from 2-4 PM Sunday at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Children’s Hospital, N. Canton, Ohio.
Mr. Lycan was born March 21, 1934 in Wooster, Ohio the son of the late Goodwin and Hazel (Douglas) Lycans. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. In 1973 he married the former Laura Irene Herzog and she preceded him in death on September 19, 2006. Bud was a Quality Control Inspector at the DC Cook Nuclear Plant during its construction. He was a master welder for many years before creating the GAL Gage Co. in 1973. He was an inventor and held a number of patents. Bud was also an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his children – Kelly (Nicci) Lycan of Lawton, Michigan and Amber Lycan of Winchester, Virginia; stepchildren – Ted (Jill) Lesauskis of Bridgman, Dale (Laurie) Lesauskis of Watervliet, David (Carrie) Lesauskis of Peoria, Arizona, and Linda (Duane) Rochefort of Coloma; 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Bud was also preceded in death by a sister, Lavinia Guthrie.
