George Friley

George Eugene Friley, 86, of Bridgman, formerly of Green Valley, Arizona, passed from this life into the loving arms of Jesus on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman.

George was born May 18, 1927 in Bruceville, Indiana the son of the late Harry Chester and Clara Belle (Wright) Friley. George married Helen LaVaughn Hiatt, the love of his life, on February 7, 1947 and shared their lives until her death on December 18, 1988. He was an Army Veteran of 22 years in counter intelligence, serving in Korea, Germany and Vietnam. George retired as Vice President and CEO from Indiana Steel and Engineering Corp. in Bedford, Indiana.

Survivors include his children - Deborah (David) Londot Sr., Karen (Trent Ripley) Friley; grandchildren - David (Julie) Londot, Jr., Ryan (Caroline) Londot, Mark (Amy) Londot, Elizabeth (Shawn Petru) Londot, Ashleigh (Andy) Crowe, Aubrei (Dan) Teter, Zacharia Friley; and ten great-grandchildren, with two more due. George was preceded in death by his wife LaVaughn, his son Michael and 12 brothers and sisters. George had a deep love for his family and country.
