Gary Rochefort

Gary Lee Rochefort, 83, of Zephyrhills, Florida, formerly of Bridgman, passed away on January 30, 2022 at Spectrum Health Lakeland.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman, with Reverend Chris Pedde, officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 10-11 AM at the funeral home, prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan, 5400 S. Niles Road. Gary was born on March 15, 1938 in Garden, Michigan the son of the late Leo and Theresa (Hymes) Rochefort. Gary retired from Welden International. He was a huge University of Michigan fan. Gary enjoyed coaching his kids’ sports teams, gardening and woodworking. Gary never met a stranger, only a future friend.

Survivors include his children: Gail (Dieter) Timm, Theresa (Phil) Crago, Marsha Smith, Jenney (Tim) McDade, Leslie (Becky) Rochefort, Donald Smith, Daniel (Jenny) Rochefort, Gary Rochefort; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; siblings: Gordon (Shurlie) Rochefort, Gaylord (Mary) Rochefort, Duane (Linda) Rochefort, and Gloria Copeland; and his faithful K-9 Companion: Nina.

Gary was also preceded in death by his wife Joyce in 1967; wife: Zelma in 2017; a son: Dale Smith; two grandsons: Eric Granke and Jonathan Rochefort; brothers: Harlan, Dale, and Joseph.
