Gary Robert Barnes

Gary Robert Barnes, 84, of Mogadore, Ohio, formerly of Bridgman, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Woodland Terrace of Bridgman.

A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family from 11 AM – 12 Noon at the funeral home, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Bridgman Public Library, 4460 Lake Street, Bridgman, MI 49106. Gary was born February 2, 1938 in Battle Creek, the son of the late Wilbur and Marjorie (Tarry) Barnes. Gary attended Albion College and the University of Michigan, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Engineering and was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He worked at Gast Manufacturing for 23 years and retired from Becker Pumps in Akron, Ohio. Gary was an artist who loved wood carving and cared greatly about nature. Gary always enjoyed a good pun.

Survivors include his children: Vonnie (Eric) Burns and Jennifer Barnes; their mother: Jane Raymond; grandchildren: Kirstie (Daniel) Zarobsky, Timothy Dunkel, and Wesley Barnes; an expected great grandson in March 2023; a sister: Pamela Werner; special friend: Veronica Gracie; and many nieces and nephews.
