Erika Rath

Erika Spitzke Rath, 68, of Baroda passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Friday, December 31 at Napier Parkview Baptist Church, 245 W. Napier Avenue, with Dr. J.O. Hosler officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday from 6-8 PM at the church. Burial will be in Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Napier Parkview Baptist Church.

Erika was born November 19, 1942 in Germany the daughter of the late Herman and Linda (Scheibler) Spitzke. She was a member of Napier Parkview Baptist Church and a 1961 graduate of Lakeshore High School.

On December 19, 1964 she married Edwin Rath and he survives along with two sons - Ronald (Diane) Rath of Fenton, Michigan and Donald (Theresa) Rath of Lutz, Florida; 5 grandchildren - Alexander, Spencer, Parker, Emily and Ellen; three brothers - Siegmund (Hattie) Spitzke of Mississippi, Arthur (Sina) Spitzke of Lapeer and Erich (Erika) Spitzke of Baroda; a sister - Ida (Peter) Wolf of Waterford, Michigan.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Spitzke in 1963.
