Elsie West

Elsie Viola West, 86 of Sawyer passed away Sunday December 23, 2018 at her home in the care of her family.

Funeral services will be held 3PM Friday, December 28, 2018 at The Boyd Chapel of Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman.  Friends may meet with the family on Friday from 2PM until the time of the service. Burial will be in New Troy Cemetery, New Troy.  Memorial contributions may be made to 21st Century Home Care, 4235 Lake St, Bridgman, MI 49106.  Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.

Elsie was born February 2, 1932 in Wolf  Bayou, Arkansas, the daughter of the late William and Debbie (Jenkins) Allender.  On April 19, 1953 she married Odus Benson West. She retired from Whirlpool Corporation.  Elsie enjoyed spending time outside tending to her flower gardens and creating beautiful quilts for her loved ones.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Odus; a son: Lowell West; grandchildren: Jennifer (Nathan Barz) West and Amber (Charles) Hayes; great grandson: Walker Barz; sisters Linda (Butch) Colpitts and Ava Reynolds; brothers: Glen (Anna) Allender, Cecil Allender and Gerald Allender.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their children.
