Elmer E. “Jim” Dumke, 93, of Baroda, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, February 12, 2021 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 2673 W. John Beers Road, Stevensville, MI 49127 with the Reverend Jeremy Koehler officiating. Burial will be in Ruggles Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family prior to the service from 10 AM - 11 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Elmer was born April 6, 1927 in Baroda the son of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Berndt) Dumke. On August 7, 1948 he married Gladys R. Mueller and she preceded him in death on July 31, 2007. He worked for Chardon Rubber for 39 years and retired in 1988. Elmer enjoyed farming, gardening, raising exotic birds and was a Ford enthusiast.
Survived by his three children: James (Barbara) Dumke, Richard Dumke, and Kathy (Roger) Stephens; six grandchildren: twelve great grandchildren; sister: Myra Clark; dear friend: Ruth Schmidt.
Preceded in death by a grandson, Cameron Guzy; siblings: Frank Dumke, Paul Dumke, Elizabeth Kruger and Florence Priefer; brother-in-laws: Floyd Clark and Vernon Mueller.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyd Chapel of Pike Funeral and Cremations Service, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy. Bridgman
