Ellen was born April 20, 1928 on a farm in Bridgman the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Lillian (Groth) Heyn. She was an avid golfer, loved dancing, bowling and the beach. She was an All State Cheerleader when the Bridgman Basketball Team won State Championships in 1945 and 1946. Sis was always "dressed to the nines" and loved wearing stylish clothes and jewelry with her hair done and full makeup until her last days. She was employed by the City of Saint Joseph in the clerks office for 39 years.
