Eldon Roy Nitz, 94, of Baroda passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Woodland Terrace, Bridgman.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Pike Funeral Home, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman, MI 49106 with Reverend Kenneth Babcock officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 10-11 AM on Monday at the funeral home, prior to the service. Burial will be in Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda. Memorial contributions may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church, PO Box 67, Baroda, MI 49101. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.
Eldon was born on December 23, 1929 in Baroda, the son of the late Albert and Amellia (Rudell) Nitz. He was a US Army veteran. On November 11, 1950 he married the former Lois Tollas and she preceded him in death on January 11, 2022. He retired from Continental Can Company and he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Eldon was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Baroda.
Survivors include children: Michael (Sandra) Nitz, Bruce (Judith) Nitz, Brian (Lori) Nitz, Dale (Billie) Nitz; son-in-law, Jerry Salzberg; daughter-in-law, Carol Nitz; numerous grand, great-grand, and great-great grandchildren; a sister, Donna Kell; and brother, Dean Nitz.
Eldon was also preceded in death by his son, Robert Nitz; daughter, Sandra Salzberg, and a brother, Wayne Nitz.
Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman.
