Eldon Glaske

Eldon “Al” Edward Glaske, 88, of Three Oaks, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at West Woods of Bridgman.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5791 Sawyer Road, Sawyer with Reverend Randy D. Lett officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 10 - 11:30 AM at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Three Oaks. Memorials may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, PO Box 247, Sawyer, MI 49125 or the Humane Society of SW Michigan, 641 S. Crystal, Benton Harbor, MI 49022.

Al was born September 7, 1927, in Galien, son of the late Ernest and Emma Minnie (Schultz) Glaske. On October 21, 1955 he married Delores Allison. Al served his country in the US Army and was a life member of the American Legion Post 518 in New Troy. After 32 years Eldon retired from Whirlpool, a job that he enjoyed every minute. He enjoyed hunting and the out-of-doors. He was a master woodworker and created many family heirlooms. Al was a lifetime member and trustee of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and served as the chairman of the Building Committee.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Delores; children: Gregory (Kimberley) Glaske of St. Joseph, Terry (Debbie) Glaske of Baroda, Mike (Cheryl) Glaske of Stevensville; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters: Barbara Rodgers of St. Joseph, and Vivian (Donald) Kesterke of Stevensville.

Eldon was also preceded in death by his brother: Leo “Bud” Glaske; and sisters: Erma Chisholm and Jeanette Slosson.
