Elaine Bammann

Elaine Catherine Witt Bammann, 86, of Stevensville, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 in the presence of family at West Woods Nursing Home, Bridgman.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Baroda Church of God-Lakeshore Campus, 5020 Cleveland Avenue, Stevensville, with Rev. Dr. Bonita Laudeman officiating. The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Human Society of SW Michigan, 641 S. Crystal Avenue, Benton Harbor, MI 49022.

Born October 25, 1930 in Bridgman, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Augusta (Pastrick) Witt. Elaine lived in the Bridgman/Stevensville area all her life. She loved her family, her dogs, music, and dancing. She was always a strong woman, with a never-give-up attitude which was evident in that she survived more than 8 years after suffering a stroke on New Year’s Eve, 2008.

Survivors include her children; Billie (Amanda) Bammann, Peggy (William) Roenfanz, and Kenneth Bammann; grandchildren Lori (Michael) Muske, Richard (Dorothy) Green, Tina (John) Foster, Michael Perkey, Jennifer (Roger) Anderson, Ken (Sommer) Dale, Andrew (Carla) Dale, Jeremy (Jeri) Hildebrandt, Shawn (Ali ) Hildebrandt, Jeff (Becky) Bammann, and Julia (John Meeks) Bammann, 29 great grandchildren and 15 great, great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother Thelma Witt, brothers William (Bud) Witt and Danny Witt, sister Lorraine Mabry, infant son Vernon, and daughter Susan Perkey.
