Edwin Bunnell passed away April 16th, 2013, at the Lakeland Continuing Care Center in St. Joseph, Michigan. A brief memorial service will be held Saturday April 20th, at 1pm at the St. Joseph Church of Christ, 3550 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, Michigan 49085. The service will be followed by a time of gathering until 3pm.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

“Ed” was born July 31, 1935, in New Britain, Connecticut the son of C. Wallace and Eva Bunnell. He moved to southern California in 1950, and married Valerie in 1967. After living in Diamond Bar, California, they spent time in Scottsdale, Arizona, Houston, Texas, and moved north to Baroda, Michigan in 1980, spending the past 17 years in Stevensville.

Ed had a long and successful career in sales in Aerospace, Medical and the Commercial Furniture industries. He developed a love for the water from his time in California, and found life near Lake Michigan a dream. He loved watching sailboats and reading about them spending hours and hours on any one of the many beaches and bluffs in southern Michigan. Barbecuing in the backyard was his second favorite pastime.

Ed is survived by his wife Valerie; children Kirk (Melissa) of Grand Rapids, MI, Teri (Louis) of Houston, TX, Daniel (Becky) of Vancouver, WA, Cheryl of San Diego, CA, Richard (Boise, ID); sister Gail (Richard) of Lodi, CA; 13 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
