Edith Hanover

Edith M. Hanover, 96, formerly of New Troy, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Woodland Terrace in Niles.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman with Reverend Steve Shimek officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 9:30 to 11:00 at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Troy Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Friends of New Troy, 13372 California Road, New Troy, MI 49119.

Edith was born May 23, 1918 in Berrien Springs, the daughter of the late William and Edith (Brunke) Zech. Edith loved to play bingo and cards with her family and friends, singing with the Sr. Citizens group, gardening and she loved to cook

Survivors include her children; Frank Vines of Buchanan, James (Evelyn) Vines of Sawyer, Jeanne (Mike) Mestach, Osceola, IN and Dennis Vines of Loganville, GA. Survivors also include her grandchildren; Scott Vines, Troy Vines, Jason Vines, Courtney Sheeler, Ryan Mestach and Kim Betts and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Susanna Thompson, Mildred Kasischke and Alice Trautman.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Hanover, son Robert Vines, her brothers Franklin Zech, Andrew Zech, Lloyd Zech and her sisters; Evelyn Pierman, Laura Greiger, Lillian Knuth and Norlene Sempert.

She will be missed by all.
