Dorothy was born on May 31, 1958 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Theodore and Shirley (Bartik) Pazdan. She graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1976 where she met her soon to be husband. Dorothy then went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University. On July 26, 1980 she married the love of her life, Daniel Zarobsky. Dorothy and Dan celebrated 44 anniversaries, each year sharing stories with loved ones of a party that will never be forgotten.
Dorothy was a fantastic cook, gardener, and always enjoyed hosting family and friends. She loved the holidays and had the most spectacular decorations. Most of all, Dorothy cherished time with her family, especially her three grandchildren. She never missed any of their events and was always finding ways to make them feel loved.
Dorothy leaves behind her husband, Daniel; two children: Allison (David) Prittinen and Daniel (Kirstie) Zarobsky, Jr.; three grandchildren: Kendall Jo and Sloane Kalynn Prittenen and Otto Daniel Zarobsky.
Dorothy is also preceded in death by a brother, T. Michael Pazdan.
In Dorothy’s memory, we would like to honor the extraordinary care and compassion shown to her and our family by the nurses at Rush University Medical Center. Their kindness went above and beyond, making us feel like family during one of the most difficult times of our lives. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to make a donation to support the nurses who were so dear to us. A portion of the donations will be dedicated to two of our favorite nurses as they prepare for their wedding – a special way to give back to those who gave so much to us. Donations can be made to Rush University Medical Center Nurse Care Fund. Please make checks payable to Pike Funeral Home or through the family using Venmo "Allison-Prittinen"
We love you, Mom.
