Dorothy Mathieu

Biography

Mrs. Mathieu was born July 9, 1925 in Bridgman to the late Elizabeth Kunde. She was proud to have helped her mother throughout her life on the farm where she was raised. She attended Bridgman High School, graduated salutatorian of her class and later went on to serve on the Bridgman School Board.

Dorothy married Jack Mathieu in 1953 and together they had three children. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bridgman. She went to work for Rimes & Hildebrant but only after picking berries in the morning with her mother.

Throughout her life she was active in the community as a 4-H Leader, Girl Scout Leader, member of the PTA, active in Club 20, and a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post 331.

She was loved by many and will be sadly missed by friends in Baldwin Estates. She was especially close to her grandson, Tyler, who she will miss dearly.
