Dorothy was born in 1941 in Fagus, Missouri the daughter of the late Thomas and Gladys Mead. Together with the late Pastor Johnny Lawson, she raised three daughters. Dorothy retired after many years of service in administrative office positions, putting herself through the Reese School of Business while working full time and raising a family. She was a devoutly faithful servant of God and was a pianist, soloist, and teacher co-ministering to many congregations.

She cherished many years with her late husband, Albert Gorske, and together they passionately gardened, with Albert gifting her a backyard greenhouse. She tended her many gardens and flower beds from sunup to sundown , then rinsed off the mud and settled into a good book. She enjoyed Weko Beach with her floppy sun hat, colorful beach umbrella, a good book and Taps playing at sunset. Memorable family gatherings were labors of love she gifted to her family with abundant home-cooked meals, decadent desserts, and elaborate seasonal decor.

Survivors include her three daughters: Pamela (Arturo), Laura (Alexander), and Angela; step-children: Matthew (Michaela) and Nancy (Mark); grandchildren: Matthew (Katelin) and Melissa; step grandchildren Katelinn, Emily, and Christopher; six great grandchildren, and sister, Brenda (Ed).

Dorthy was preceded in death by her husband, Albert and two brothers: Jerry Wayne and Donald Lee.

Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman, MI.
