Doris Louise Riley, 85, of Baroda passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Jordan’s Life Care Center in Bridgman with her family by her side.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 10 AM, at Peace Lutheran Church, 3590 Lincoln Avenue, St. Joseph, with Reverend Franz J. Brandenburg officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Friday from 5 - 8 PM at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. Burial will be in Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda. Memorial contributions may be made to Peace Lutheran Church, 3590 Lincoln Avenue, St. Joseph, MI 49085.
Doris was born June 30, 1927 in Borden, Indiana the daughter of the late Ellis R. and Thelma (Stone) Jackson. She was a waitress at The Chicken Nook in St. Joseph and then worked at the Stevensville Subway. Doris loved music and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children - Marilyn (Bernie Gleason) Riley of Baroda, Gerald (Jill) Riley of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Kurt (Tonya) Riley of Tennessee, Kevin (Kelly Worthington) Riley of St. Joseph; daughter-in-law: Lauri (Raymond) Schedler of Three Oaks; grandchildren - Lisa Blaylock, Nicole, Ryan, Cole, Nevan, Ava and Reagan Riley, and many step grandchildren; and a brother - Leroy (Eva) Stone of Kentucky.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband Gerald in 1989, a son - Mark, and a brother Kermit Jackson.
