Donna Essig

Donna Mae Essig, 87, of Bridgman passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020 at Woodland Terrace, Bridgman.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9650 Church Street, Bridgman with Reverend Edward A.  Meyer, officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday from 10-11 AM at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Terrace Activity Fund, 8850 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman or Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085. Donna was born Saturday, April 8, 1933 in St. Joseph the daughter of the late Oscar and Martha (Fechner) Brado. On April 23, 1955, she married Fred Richard Essig and he preceded her in death on August 30, 2019. Fred and Donna had  great memories at Estero Island. She enjoyed entertaining by their pool, crafting and painting. Donna and Fred were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bridgman.

Survivors include two daughters: Shelli (Jeff) Wasko, Sherri (Don “Scooby”) Skorupa; grandchildren: Scott (Sara) Skorupa, Stacey Skorupa, Angela (JR) Coman; great grandchildren: Nickolas and Jordan Skorupa, Mason and Karter Coman; sister: Dolores Patzer Nimtz; lifelong friends: Dorothy Ott, Eleanor Robinson and Shirley Ziegert.
