Dolores L. Kowal, 87 of St. Joseph, formerly of Miami, Florida passed away on Friday, August 6, 2010 at Jordan’s Life Care Center, Bridgman.
Dolores was born on April 3, 1923 in Detroit Michigan to John and Marie (Gessner) Trapp. She served her country during World War II from 1944 to 1945 in the United States Navy as a Japanese code interceptor. On April 24, 1947, she married William Kowal. Soon after, they moved to Miami Florida where they resided until William died on May 10th, 2001. She was very active in her church, Lady of the Lakes and community, Miami Lakes, up until she moved to St. Joseph to be close to her family.
Survivors include her son, Craig Kowal of St. Joseph, grandson Michael (Jenny) Kowal of Grosse Pointe, granddaughter Morgan (Joseph) Teichert of Jacksonville Florida and great granddaughter, Olivia and Charlotte Kowal of Grosse Pointe.
A family memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
