Dieter Kruger

Dieter H. Kruger, 86 of Bridgman passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020 at Spectrum Health Lakeland, St. Joseph.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9650 N. Church Street, Bridgman  with Reverend Edward A. Meyer officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 10 - 11 AM on Thursday, prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Dieter was born August 26, 1934 in Kirpehnen, Germany, the son of the late Emil and Martha (Kuhn) Kruger. He immigrated to the United States in 1957 and in 1975 founded Kruger Tool Corp. As a youth, he enjoyed soccer and bicycle racing.  In fact, he trained with a Grand Prix racer which helped him win many trophies in East Germany.  His hobbies included traveling and boating.  He appreciated wood and spent a lot of his spare time cutting wood for his fireplace.

On May 3, 1958 he married the love of his life, the former Eva Awe, who survives him along with a daughter, Karin (Jim) Hudson and son Dirk Kruger.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Gustav and Gunther Kruger; three sisters: Brunhilde Kahnert, Irene Roggendorf and Ruth Thurkow.
