Deborah Jean Spears, 59 of St. Joseph went to be with her Lord on Monday, July 4, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 8, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bridgman with the Rev. Jon Bendewald officiating. Burial will be in Weesaw Township Cemetery, Buchanan. Friends may meet with the family from 5-8 PM on Thursday at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman. Memorial contributions may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Debbie was born July 2, 1952 in Niles the daughter of Raymond and Leora (Hischke) Spears. She was a 1970 graduate of River Valley High School and worked as a corporate secretary for Ideal Plumbing and Heating for 28 years. Since 1997 Debbie has worked at R.A. Mort Bath Gallery in Benton Harbor. Debbie was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sawyer. She enjoyed Cross-stitching, golfing, ceramics and reading.
Survivors include her father - Raymond of Buchanan; a sister – Diane and Terry Federspiel of Fort Wayne; nephews – Samuel and Nancy Federspiel, Benjamin and Annie Federspiel; great nieces and a nephew – Faith and George Federspiel and Serenity and McKayla Spears; her faithful canine companion, Bailey; and a wide circle of special friends.
Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, Leora Spears in 2006 and a nephew, Michael Spears in 2007 and her beloved Max.
