Darwin Lee Krieger, 85 of Bridgman passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.
A memorial service and military rites will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 5, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9650 Church St, Bridgman. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family from 10 - 11 prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or The American Legion Wilwin Lodge; 212 N. Darwin was born July 30, 1935 in Michigan City, the son of the late Edward and Eva (Kugler) Krieger. On July 27, 1956 he married Marguerite “Peggy” Stine and they shared 57 years together. Peggy passed away on February 28, 2014. Darwin was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and worked alongside Peggy at Zodiac Industries which was their plastic injection mold shop. Darwin was a US Army veteran and lifetime member of Bridgman American Legion Post 331. Darwin was the past Commander of Post 331 and the State Commander.
Survivors include his children: Mark Krieger and Kathryn (Tim) Lemon; grandchildren: Megan (David) DeKoster and Kami (Bryce) Ponegalek; great grandchildren: Emma, Aubrey and Gianna; sisters: Barbara Franzon and Dorothea Crocker.
He was also preceded in death his siblings: LeRoy, Tom, Edward and sisters, Betty Van Hellen and Dolores Davis.
