Clara Schmidt

Clara Louise Schmidt, 98, of Bridgman passed away July 5, 2013, at Crowne Pointe Senior Living Community in Stevensville.

Memorial services will be held 11 AM Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Zion United Church of Christ, 9100 Church Street, Baroda with Reverend Christopher Noffke officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 10 AM prior to the service. Clara was born November 24, 1914 the daughter of Rudolph and Minnie (Lambrecht) Zilke, Sr. Clara married William G. Schmidt on November 19, 1938 who preceded her in death on October 18, 1970. Clara was a long time member of Zion United Church of Christ in Baroda. She loved to visit her children in Alaska and enjoyed traveling internationally.

Survivors include her daughter Donna Jean Uphues of Alaska; grandchildren - David (Heidi) Amaya, Lori (Greg) Umfleet; 1 great granddaughter and 6 great grandsons.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband William G. Schmidt; son Robert Schmidt; sisters - Adeline Kaeding, Minnie Zilke; brothers - John R., Rudolph H., Elmer H. and Walter Zilke.
