Christian Schmidt

Chris was born July 20, 1960 in Ft. Rucker, Alabama, the son of Wilhelm and Darice (Koester) Schmidt. He graduated from Bridgman High School. On March 25, 1995 he married Ruth (Gerlach) Kunde. Chris was employed by Lakeshore Public Schools, a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Stevensville and Sons of the American Legion. He served on the Board of Education at Immanuel Lutheran School and on various boards at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survived By his wife of 12 years, Ruth; a son, Eric Schmidt of Grand Haven, Michigan; a grandson, Logan Schmidt; his parents, Wilhelm and Darice Schmidt of Bridgman; a brother, William (Wendy) Schmidt of Muskegon, Michigan; two nephews – Karl and Warren Schmidt; and his grandmother, Hazel (Nagel) Koester of St. Joseph.
