Charles Nemitz

Charles A. Nemitz, 68, of Lakeside, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2008 at his home.

Charles was born January 9, 1940 the son of the late Charles J. and Charlotte (Nehring) Nemitz. On May 6, 1978, he married Barbara Durrenberger. Charles attended Immanuel Lutheran School as a child and graduated from Bridgman High School in 1958. After graduation, he spent almost fifty years on the road as a truck driver. He began his trucking career delivering produce from local farms to the South Water Fruit Market in Chicago He loved life on the road and was known by his daughter as a human atlas. Charles retired from USF Logistics in June of 2005. Since his retirement he spent his time with the loves of his life; family, bowling and his garden. He was diagnosed with cancer in June, 2007. He put up a brave fight trying all treatment available
